Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program - [view classes]
Recreational exercise program designed to accommodate the abilities of individuals with arthritis and other related diseases. This class will provide social interaction, improve muscular strength, endurance and flexibility, maintain independence, manage pain, and relieve some symptoms of arthritis.

Swim for Fitness
Give your workout an extra push at Swim For Fitness!

Our experienced instructor and coach, Chelsea McDowell, will provide you with a cardiovascular workout based on your current swimming proficiency and goals.  She will also provide instruction in different swimming strokes and work to improve stroke technique as desired. 

  • Swim For Fitness 1-2-3
    Focuses on stroke mechanics and general fitness.  Great for beginners!  Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30pm – 5:15pm.

  • Swim For Fitness
    F ocuses on stroke refinement and swimming fitness.  Perfect for those interested in competition or triathlons.  Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:00am – 6:00am

A package of 12 sessions costs $55 for HealthPlus members and $70 for non-members.  Join us at any time and use your 12 sessions at your convenience.

Coach Chelsea McDowell’s Bio:
Chelsea swam on the USS team for 11 years and for 4 of those years she swam in high school. She was team captain and MVP for a year. Elaine Breeden, the 2008 Olympic gold medalist, swam with Chelsea. Chelsea is originally from Lexington, KY but has just received her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Promotion from Auburn University.

 
Learn-to-Swim Private Lessons
Individual instruction to fit your needs and skill level.  Lessons are scheduled at your convenience, pool schedule permitting and are available for swimmers ages 3 to adult. 

Each 30-minute lesson costs $15 for members and $20 for non-members.  Contact Keena Dowdell for instructor availability and scheduling.
